19th Annual Ice Fishing Contest

Over $15,000 in Prizes will be given away.

Ice fishing anglers of all ages will head to the chain of lakes for the 19th annual Chetek Hydroflites Water Ski Show Team Ice Fishing Contest Saturday, Feb. 10, from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. on the entire Chetek Chain of Lakes.
First-place prize winners in the adult division for northern pike, bass, and panfish will be awarded $200 worth of chamber bucks. Second-place prize winners with receive a Mr. Heater Big Buddy Portable Heater, and third-place will be given a $50 gift certificate to Red’s. In the 14 and under contest for kids, first-place winners will be awarded a Beaver Dam Tip-Up and a fishing chair. There also be prize-winners for the second-place prize winners. 

Raffle Drawings, Too!

Raffle tickets are available and will be sold at the contest for $5 each or five for $20. There will also be other various raffles and drawings throughout the day.

Other Raffles available on the ice the day of the event include: Ruger Stainless Steel .357 Handgun, Taurus 9mm Handgun, Ipad Air, Henry Golden Boy .22, ION 8” 40 volt Ice Auger with Reverse, St. Croix Walleye Rod, Fenwick Fishing Rod, Strikemaster 4 stroke 8” Ice Auger, Mission Creed Bow in Lost Camo, Fish Scout Underwater Camera, Wi-Fi Underwater Camera for a smartphone. Other prizes will be added prior to the event. 
Registration will start at 7:00 a.m. and fish weigh-in will take place at 2:15 p.m. on the ice in front of Gilligan’s. The Hydroflite’s will be serving Barneys Brat’s and Hot-dogs, Chili and refreshments available in the same location throughout the day.
Proceeds from the fishing contest allow the Hydroflites to help support the ski team’s youth program and aids in the purchase of equipment for the local ski team—which puts on 20-plus local shows and competes at multiple ski show tournaments each summer.

  • A willingness to learn something new.

Skis, ropes and life vests will be provided. (if you have your own life vest, please bring it with you.)

All Children need to have a parent or guardian on site during the lesson.

Class sizes are limited.

The cost is $20 per student
